What Is a Private Challenge?

A Private Challenge is a Kilimanjaro climb organized exclusively for you and your group.

Unlike our Fixed-Date Challenges, you are not joining other climbers on a scheduled departure. Your climb has its own team, itinerary and departure date.

You can choose:

• Your preferred climbing dates

• Your Kilimanjaro route

• Your group size

• Your travel companions

• Your preferred challenge theme

• Optional safari or Zanzibar extensions

• Additional services before or after your climb

Whether you are climbing alone or bringing a group, we help turn your Kilimanjaro goal into your own private challenge.

These challenges can sometimes be offered as group departures, but we generally recommend organizing them privately because the experience is more personal and flexible:

• Friends Challenge – create your own group and climb on dates that suit everyone.

• Corporate Challenge – organize the climb around your company's team, goals and schedule.

• University Challenge – ideal for a university, society, alumni group or student organization bringing its own team.

• Charity Challenge – organize your own fundraising group around a chosen cause.

• Fathers Challenge – perfect for fathers, sons, daughters and families climbing together.

• Professionals Challenge – create a private climb for colleagues or members of the same profession.

Challenges That Must Be Private

Some challenges are personal by nature and are therefore organized as Private Challenges:

• Birthday Challenge – organized around your birthday or the birthday of someone in your group.

• Anniversary Challenge – planned around your own anniversary dates.

These challenges do not require you to wait for one of our scheduled Fixed-Date departures.

The Kilimanjaro World Challenge is our international flagship event and is available only on its scheduled departure.
